Panthers feast on Tylertown

TYLERTOWN – The Brookhaven Panthers feast on the Tylertown Chiefs to captured a 73-48 victory Tuesday night in high school basketball action.
Brookhaven returns home to host the West Lincoln Bears for a pair of varsity games Friday Night at Sinclair Gymnasium. The girls tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys contest at 7:30 p.m.

The Panthers and Chiefs battled hard in the first quarter as Brookhaven claimed 17-13 lead.
In the second quarter, the Panthers turned up the heat on the Chiefs by putting together a 32-15 run to take a 49-28 advantage into halftime.
In the second half, Brookhaven and Tylertown fought through a defensive contest, the Panthers managed to prevail in the scoring contest by overpowering the Chiefs 24-20 in the final two frames.
Damarius Brooks powered the Panthers with a game-high 16 points. Lazorian McNulty chipped in with 12 points, three steals and three assists. Darrian Wilson, Garrick Smith and Tavis Moore helped on the boards with five rebounds each. Darian Wilson also had four assists and two steals.
Others members scoring for Ole Brook was Garrick Smith and Tyriq Reese with eight point apiece. Marte Jones had six points. Alex Benson, Keante Benjamin, Danarius Gray and Tavis Moore netted four points each. Shon Blackwell added three points. Darrian Wilson had two points.
