Funeral Services for Moreta Haley Lea of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at Heuck’s Retreat Baptist Church with burial in church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, and will continue Tuesday morning at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Lea, 94, died Dec. 20, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 1, 1920, to Joel Walter Haley and Francis Theodocia Moore Haley.

She was a retired supervisor from Stahl Urban Manufacturing Co. with over 35 years of service. She was a member of Heuck’s Retreat Baptist Church. Mrs. Lea was a devoted mother and grandmother, was an avid quilter and excellent seamstress. She also loved flowers and gardening as well.

Preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, Truman Haley, Harlan Haley, Dorris Haley and Barney Haley; five sisters, Pauline Haley Wells, Ruby Haley Smith, Nell Haley, Mary Haley and Lavada Haley Smith.

Survivors are her son, Danny Eugene Lea and wife, Linda Sue Burris Lea of Wesson; one sister, Willena Haley Smith of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, De’Ana Lynn Lea Derrick and husband, Wesley, of Wesson; Sean Eugene Lea of McCall Creek; and Amanda Rhea Lea Case and husband, Matt, of Wesson; her great-grandchildren, Jordan Lea Derrick, Emily Nicole Derrick, Jakob Sean Lea, Tucker Luke Lea and Presley Robin Case; and a host of nieces and nephews.
