The Daily Leader Golden Ticket Contest will soon be coming to an end.

Friday at noon will be the last day to turn in your golden ticket to be entered into the Daily Leader’s grand prize drawing. The winner of the $500 prize will be announced in Sunday’s paper.

The golden tickets were distributed in Sunday papers sold at the Daily Leader’s news dealers over the past five weeks. A weekly winning number was chosen for a prize of $100.

The first week’s winner was Clyde E. Ellzey. The winning ticket was found in a paper purchased at the Piggly Wiggly Superstore on Monticello Street.

The second week’s winner was Paul Bowman. The winning ticket was found in a paper puchased at Fleetway.

No winners claimed the prize for the third and fourth week.

The winning number this week was 1969. The winner still has until Friday at noon to claim his or her prize.

Golden tickets are also available at the Daily Leader office for the grand prize drawing.

Stores with Daily Leader papers that included the golden tickets are Cracker Barrel N, Cracker Barrel S, A1 Stop No. 3, Piggly Wiggly (both), 3 Way Kwik Stop, B&B Handymart, Walmart, Fleetway, The BP, BB Discount Food Store, Startown, Stop & Shop, Walgreens and C Store.
