MCCOMB – The Brookhaven Academy junior high baseball Cougars lost a nine-inning contest to the Parklane Pioneers 6-5 last Saturday.

Cade suffered the setback in relief for the Cougars on the mound. Austin Fugler was the starting pitcher for BA as he went 3 1/3 innings. Dawson Flowers also saw some action on the mound in relief.

Austin Fugler was the leader at the plate for Brookhaven with two doubles and two singles. Coker Wright contributed two singles. Hitting safely were Justin Burt, Carson Rounsaville, Britton Nelson and Piker.

The Cougars out hit Parklane Academy 10-6, but made seven errors down the stretch that hurt. The Junior High Cougars are coached by Jarred Jordan and Newt Riley.

In more hunior high action, BA defeated Hartfield Academy 8-0.

Dawson Flowers pitched the win for the Cougars Justin Burt also pitched in relief.

Coker Wright and Carson Rounseville were the offensive leaders at the plate for BA with two singles each. Dawson Flowers and Justin Burt ripped a double apiece. Britton Nelson hit a single.

BA made only one error and only allowed the hits on the day.
