Cobras blank Crystal Springs

CRYSTAL SPRINGS – The Wesson Cobras begin their Region 7-3A race with a 13-0 win over the Crystal Springs Tigers Tuesday night in high school baseball action.
The Cobras (3-3, 1-0) will return home to wrap up the division series against Crystal Springs Friday. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7 p.m.

The Wesson Cobras came out and dominated the Crystal Springs Tigers in four innings of action. Wesson scored two runs in the first inning, nine run in the second inning and added two more runs in the top of the fourth inning to secure the win.
With the combine pitching effort of Mack Smith (4K, 0BB) and Jeremy Smith (5K, 0BB), the Cobras collect the one hit shutout.
Clayton Johnson suffered the loss for the Tigers on the mound with four strikeouts and three walks.
Tyler McLeod powered the Cobras attack at the plate with two doubles. Mac McQuage contributed a double. Hitting safely were Max Daughdrill, Ryan Traxler, Peyton Burns, Preston Middleton, Mack Smith, Jeremy Smith and Payton Selman.
Keith Johnson recorded the only hit for the Tigers’ offense with a single.
