MONTICELLO – The Lawrence County Lady Cougars bounced back after a tough lost last Tuesday to collect a big Region 7-4A win over the McComb Lady Tigers 17-2 Thursday night in fastpitch softball action.

“This was a good win for us to bounce back after a tough game last Tuesday night,” said LCHS coach Meleah Howard. “The girls were more disciplined at the plate tonight and aggressive on the bases. We still need to be a little more sharper on defense.”

The Lady Cougars (8-2, 1-1) will be in action Saturday as they prepare to participate in Ole Brook’s softball tournament at Hansel King Complex. Lawrence County will begin action at 9 a.m. against West Lincoln, then face Pearl at 12:30 and battle Warren Central at 3:40 in the finale.
