Enterprise splits in Ole Brook Tourney

The Enterprise Lady Yellow Jackets secured a split decision in last Saturdays’ Ole Brook softball tournament action at Hansel King Complex.

The Lady Jackets defeated the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs 3-2 in the first game, but fell to the Natchez Cathedral Lady Green Wave 8-4 in the second game.

The Lady Jackets (3-5, 2-1) will be in action today as they host the Loyd Star Lady Hornets for a huge Region 7-2A test. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:15 p.m.

Enterprise 3, Franklin Co. 2

Carlee Nations was the winning pitcher for Enterprise with nine strikeouts and no walks.

Emily Smith suffered the setback for Franklin County with five strikeouts and six walks.

Brooks Foster directed the Lady Jackets’ offense with two singles. Hitting safely were Carlee Nations, Kinsey Dahlin and Karlee Burgess.

Emily Smith was the top hitter for the Lady Bulldogs at the plate with a double. Macy Brabham hit safely.

Cathedral 8, Enterprise 4 

Marty Lewis pitched the win for Cathedral with two strikeouts and no walks.

Haley Nations absorbed the setback in the pitching circle for Enterprise with four strikeouts and three walks.

Lewis powered the Lady Green Wave’s offensive surge with a double and a single. McKenzie Milligan provided two singles. Baylee Graming, Mackenzie Watts, Elizabeth Smith and Caroline Kaiser hit safely.

Kinsey Dahlin paced the Lady Jackets’ offense with two singles. Hitting safely were Carly Polk, Carlee Nations, Jana Nations, Karlee Burgess and Haley Nations.
