Wesson topples Jefferson County

WESSON – The Wesson Cobras hosted the Jefferson County Tigers for the second night in a row due to Jefferson County rescheduling issues with Hazlehurst. The Tigers ended up calling Wesson to go ahead and play their Friday contest Wednesday night in Wesson.
The Cobras quickly defeated the Tigers 15-0 in the late minute game change.
Wesson (8-4, 5-1) will face the Terry Bulldogs this Saturday in Wesson. Game time is 11 a.m. for JV and 1 p.m. for varsity.

The Wesson Cobras blanked the Jefferson County Tigers again for the second night in a row in Wesson Wednesday night.
The Cobras controlled the field to secure the win in a three-inning contest.
Cobras’ pitcher, Tyler McLeod, tossed the win for Wesson with nine strikeouts and no walks.
Max Daughdrill was the top hitter for the night for Wesson with a single and a triple that brought in two runs to end the game in third inning. Justin Boone, Jeremy Smith and Preston Middleton hit a double each. Jimmie McQuage provided a double and a single. Mack Smith, Mac McQuage Ryan Traxler, Max Daughdrill and McLeod hit safely.
Tiger’s pitcher, Delderick White, averaged three strikeouts and two walks in the loss. White was also the only hitter for the Tigers with a single. Jalen Herrington was top fielder for the Tigers with two catches in right field.
