Funeral Services for Mrs. Billie Sue McCurley Mayes of Walker, Louisiana are 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Pleasant Valley Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is also Tuesday, from 9 until 11 a.m. at Riverwood.

Mrs. Mayes, 67, died at her residence on April 10, 2015. Heaven is a little brighter as Billie McCurley Mayes has gone to be with her Savior.

She was born on Dec. 1, 1947 to John Riley McCurley, Jr. and Mildred Stephens McCurley.

She was retired from LA State Police as Traffic Records Supervisor.

She enjoyed reading, gardening and garage sales as well as trips with her husband, Henry.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Riley “Speedy” McCurley III.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Mayes Sr.; son, Bobby Wade Conn Jr. and wife, Tammy; stepson, Henry Mayes Jr. and partner, Ted Miller; daughter, Angela Conn Marcotte and husband, Shane; step-daughters, Linda Mayes Johnson and husband, Ted, and Lisa Mayes Jones and husband, David, and first husband, Bobby Wade Conn Sr.; brothers, Robert McCurley and Delton McCurley and wife, LaVern Villasenor Jensen; sister, Barbara Ann McCurley Miller and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, Ryan Brown, Jared Brown, Devin Brown, Jake Conn, Reece Conn, Randa Conn, Amy Stowe, Ashley Jones, David Jones, Aubrey Johnson, Heath Johnson and Hannah Johnson; and six great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Nathaniel, Gracie, Ava, Isabelle and Carlo.
