Mr. and Mrs. Tim McDowell, of Brookhaven, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Emily Kaylin McDowell, of Brandon, to Camilo Andres Torres.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eduardo Torres, of Combia, South America.

She is the granddaughter of Olive McDowell, the late Robert McDowell, of Brookhaven, and Gene and Helen Spence, of Brookhaven.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of West Lincoln Attendance Center and a 2011 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College. She is currently the owner of Bright Minds Learning Center in Flowood.

The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of Northwest Rankin High School and a 2012 graduate of Hinds Community College. He is currently the owner of Bright Minds Learning Center in Flowood.

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Rosegate Venue in Florence.
