Mrs. Annie Pearl Johnson, of Brookhaven, announces the engagement and approaching marriage of her daughter, Toletha Renea Johnson-Bethel, of Brookhaven, to Maurice Karon Townsend.
She is the daughter of the late Robert Earl Johnson, of Brookhaven.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Lee Townsend Jr., of Wesson.
She is the granddaughter of the late Frances Braxton, of Brookhaven, the late Tommie J. Braxton, of Los Angeles, California, the late Arcola Smith, of Brookhaven, and the late Albert Johnson, of Brookhaven.
He is the grandson of the late Bessie Earl and Roger Keys, of Wesson, the late Beaulah Mae Evans, of Brookhaven, and Jimmie Townsend Sr., of Prentiss. The bride-elect is a 1993 graduate of Brookhaven High School and a 2000 and 2003 graduate of Alcorn State University. She is currently employed with Rite-Aid in Brookhaven.
The prospective groom is a 1997 graduate of Loyd Star Attendance Center and served in the United States Marine Corp. He is currently employed with McLane Southern Distribution.
The couple will exchange vows at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Lincoln Civic Center. The reception will follow at 4 p.m.
All friends and relatives are invited to attend the wedding and the reception.
