Puckett knocks out Enterprise

PUCKETT – The Enterprise Lady Jackets season came an end Friday night after falling to the Puckett Lady Wolves in games two and three of the best of three series of the Class 2A state softball playoffs.

In game two, Enterprise lost a close 2-1 decision and in game three, the Lady Wolves knocked off the Lady Jackets 5-2.

In Thursday’s contest, the Lady Jackets won game one over Puckett 9-1 at Enterprise.

The Lady Jackets, coached by Charissa Burke, concludes their season with 11-11 record overall and finished third in the Region 7-2A race with a 4-4 record.

Enterprise 9, Puckett 1 

In game one, the Lady Jackets dominated the Lady Wolves to clinch the win. Enterprise scored three runs in the third inning, one run in the fifth inning and five runs in the sixth inning.

Haley Nations was the winning pitcher with 12 strikeouts and five walks.

Kinsey Dahlin led the Lady Jackets at the plate with two hits. Carlee Nations, Brooke Foster, Jana Nations, Karlee Burgess, Carly Polk and Kalyn Chemin provided a hit each.

Puckett 2, Enterprise 1 

In game two, the Lady Wolves and the Lady Jackets battled in a 1-1 contest until the fifth inning, when Puckett took the lead scoring one run to take a 2-1 advantage and held on to force game three.

Haley Nations suffered the setback for Enterprise with nine strikeouts, one walk and one hit batter.

Jana Nations and Haley Nations paced the Lady Jackets offense with two singles each, Carly Polk and Kalyn Chemin hit safely.

Puckett 5, Enterprise 2 

In game three, Enterprise came out and took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, but Puckett rallied back scoring one run in the second inning, one run in the third inning, two runs in the fourth inning and added one more run in the fifth inning to secure the win.

Carlee Nations absorbed the setback on the rubber fro Enterprise in game three with six strikeouts and five walks.

Polk was the top hitter for the Lady Jackets with three singles. Jana Nation had a double. Dahlin and Chemin hit a single each.
