Funeral services for Mary Maude Gunnell Calhoun are Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Saturday, May 23, 2015, from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Calhoun, 82, of Brookhaven, died on May 21, 2015 at her residence. She was born on March 23, 1933, in Lawrence County to Harvey Gunnell and Myrtle Thames Gunnell.

She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; grandson, James O. McDonald III; sister and brother-in-law, Ina Mae King and Clell King; brother, Joe Harvey Gunnell; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Gunnell.

Survivors are her husband, James R. Calhoun; daughter, Sheila Calhoun Pitarro and husband, Patrick; brother, Ray Harvey Gunnell Jr.; sister Jimmie Sistrunk and husband, Donald; four grandchildren, Jason Alexander McDonald, Timothy Lewis Gipson, Scott Pitarro and wife, Heather; Brad Pitarro and wife, Staci; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Inell Gunnell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
