Clubs need insurance on LCSD property
The Lincoln County School District will begin adding a provision in hunting and fishing leases that requires hunting clubs to purchase $1 million in liability insurance.
The school board approved the provision at Monday’s meeting.
According to Stan Long, 16th section land manager, the new requirement will take effect for future contracts and is meant to protect the school district and the hunting clubs that lease the land. It was estimated that the added cost to the clubs would be between $10 and $15 per member.
In other school board business:
• The board approved new summer hours, which will mean the central office will close at 12 p.m. on Fridays.
• The board accepted a donation from the West Lincoln Booster Club in the amount of $352.65 to be used to pay 2015 archery mileage.
The next board meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on June 15 in conjunction with the presentation of the 2015-2016 budget.
