The Lincoln County School District will begin adding a provision in hunting and fishing leases that requires hunting clubs to purchase $1 million in liability insurance.

The school board approved the provision at Monday’s meeting.

According to Stan Long, 16th section land manager, the new requirement will take effect for future contracts and is meant to protect the school district and the hunting clubs that lease the land. It was estimated that the added cost to the clubs would be between $10 and $15 per member.
