Funeral services for Joe S. Brumfield are Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Moak’s Creek Baptist Church with burial in Moak’s Creek Cemetery. Rev. Hugh Moak, Rev. Jess Greer, Rev. Matthew Green and Rev. Talmage Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Kenny Alexander, Darrell Smith, Rick Brumfield, Zachary Brumfield, Mark Brumfield and Scott Hunt. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Smith, Roland Lambert and the deacons of Moak’s Creek Baptist Church. Jones Family Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, June 26, 2015, at Jones Family Funeral Services from 5 until 8 p.m. and will continue Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Moak’s Creek Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until service.0625JBrumfield

Mr. Brumfield, 73, of Bogue Chitto died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Country Brook Living Center in Brookhaven. He was born on April 1, 1942, in Mississippi to Sandy Bickham Brumfield and Mildred Seab Brumfield.

He retired as a dispatcher from Walmart Distribution Center and previously worked for St. Regis Paper Company in Monticello. He was a member, former deacon and choir member of Moak’s Creek Baptist Church. He graduated from Bogue Chitto High School. He was a former member of Bogue Chitto Lions Club. He served in the Army National Guard and Mississippi Air National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harold Duane Brumfield, Sanford Lee Brumfield, Joseph Jesse Brumfield and Julian Kirk Brumfield.

Survivors are his brother, Robert Edsel Brumfield of Bogue Chitto; five sisters, Cheryl Alexander and husband, Jim, of Bogue Chitto, Margaret Boyer and husband, Don, of Norborne, Missouri, Marilyn Mullins of New Hebron, Laura Ruth Alexander of Bogue Chitto and Irene Baggett of Florence; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Moak’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
