“We’re still working on the motive,” Brookhaven Police Chief Bobby Bell said. “We don’t know the motive but we have enough evidence to charge him.”

Bell said his office received a call at 5:41 p.m. saying a victim had been shot at Cloverdale No. 73. When officers arrived they found he had been shot multiple times in the back. Bell said witnesses say that the victim was approached from the back and the perpetrator opened fire on him. Bell said according to witnesses the victim was shot approximately between eight and 12 times. The weapon appears to be a large caliber gun.

McMorris said the body is being transported to the Mississippi Crime Lab for an autopsy.
