Funeral services for James Thomas Holloway are Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Pearl Street AME Church in Jackson with burial in Garden Memorial Park Cemetery in Jackson. Rev. Samuel Boyd will be officiating the services. R.E. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 8, 2015, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson.
Mr. Holloway, 63, of Jackson died on Friday, July 3, 2015, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was born July 1, 1952, in Hazlehurst to the late Henry Lee and Evelyn Washington Holloway.
He was a graduate of Alcorn State University and received a master’s of education from Jackson State University. He was an educator in the Claiborne County School District for a number of years.
Preceding her in death were his parents; and brother, Melvin Holloway.
Survivors are his devoted wife of 22 years, Wilda Buie Holloway of Jackson; daughters, Jamekia Holloway Bailey (Tyson) of Dallas, Texas, and Jenessa T. Holloway (Derrick) of Jackson; his grandchildren, Jaxon, Ryan and Ethan; brothers, Alvin Holloway and Gregory Holloway both of Hazlehurst; and sister, Thelma Demyers of Lansing, Michigan.
