Funeral services for Arthur Callaway Jr. were Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 12 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers were Vernon Cavin, Heath Grubbs, Nathaniel Fauver, Nicholas Fauver, Zachary Phillips and Howard Wayne “Bubby” Wallace Jr. Riverwood Family Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. prior to the service.

Arthur Callaway Jr., 86, formally of Cantonment, Florida, died Thursday, July 16, 2015 at King’s Daughters Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Century, Florida on Dec. 18, 1928, to Arthur Callaway Sr. and Esther Boutwell Callaway. He was the oldest of five children.

Arthur met the love of his life, Theresa, in high school and married her on Sept. 6, 1947 and had two daughters. Arthur worked for St. Regis Paper Company in Cantonment and transferred to Monticello in 1967. After retiring from the paper mill, Arthur and Theresa moved back to Cantonment and took to traveling. Mr. Callaway was also an avid golfer and loved football. He shared his love of the University of Florida football with his family. He also was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are his wife of 67 years, Theresa Callaway; two daughters, Donna C. Smith and husband, Roger, and Regina C. Cavin and husband, Vernon; two brothers, Johnny Callaway and wife, Virgie, and Raymon Callaway and wife, Ann; two sisters, Murline Callaway Harvey and Betty Callaway Bradley; four grandchildren, Angela Phillips, Karla Wallace and her husband, Bubby, Heath Grubbs and his wife, Sharon and Jeremy Grubbs; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews; along with his beloved dachshund, “Callie”.
