LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) – University of Louisiana at Lafayette football coach Mark Hudspeth says defensive lineman Marquis White and receiver C.J. Bates have been dismissed from the program.

In a statement on the university’s website, Hudspeth said Tuesday that the players were dismissed due to an unspecified violation of team rules.

White, a native of Orlando, Florida, played in nine games last season and recorded 16 tackles on the season.

Bates, a native of Louisville, Mississippi, appeared in all 13 games last season and caught 12 passes with one touchdown.

Hudspeth wished each player well but said he would have no further comment on the matter.
