Funeral services for Christopher Jacob “Jake” Taylor are 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Easthaven Cemetery next to his great-grandfather, Bennon Case, whom he loved so dearly. Pallbearers will be Noah Rogers, Austin Lyons, Matt Britt, Garrett Taylor, Dylan Britt and Cayce Boyd. Honorary pallbearer will be Jake’s brother, Aaron Taylor. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is from 5 until 9 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Riverwood.

Mr. Taylor, 18, died Saturday, July 25, 2015 in Brookhaven. He was born on Feb. 4, 1997 to Jason and Sarah Baumgarnter Taylor and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Jake attended Brookhaven High School and was presently enrolled at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He was an awesome baseball player in his youth as well as an accomplished guitar player, taught by his dad, and an outstanding song writer. Jake always had a sweet smile and was a loving friend to all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tommy Taylor; great-grandfather, Bennon Case; and grandparents, James and Virginia Taylor.

Survivors are his father; mother; brothers, Garrett Taylor and Aaron Taylor; sister, Haylee Taylor; grandparents, Gary and Sheila Massey, Gary and Debbie Baumgarnter; great-grandmother, Bobbie Mae Case; uncle, Lee Baumgarnter; aunt, Angela Ballard; and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
