Funeral services for Gertrude Nunnery Spring are Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb with burial in Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County. Elder Luke Addison will officiate the services. Hartman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 9th, 2015, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Hartman Funeral Home and will resume on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Mrs. Spring, 99, of Smithdale, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was born Oct. 8, 1915, in Franklin County to Griff and Mary Davis Nunnery.
Gertrude attended Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church. She was a long-time employee of the Kellwood Company. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also loved taking time for tending to her flower beds. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George W. Spring; two sons, Warren Spring and Ralph Spring; one grandson, Chris Spring; two sisters, Agnes Lofton and Hazel Cowart; two brothers, Glen Nunnery and Rueben Nunnery.
She is survived by three sons, Wayne Spring of Brookhaven, A.J. and Janie Spring, of Smithdale, Eddie and Pat Spring, of Smithdale, and one daughter, Frances Berch of Brookhaven; one daughter-in-law Susan Spring, of Summit; one sister-in-law, Sandi Nunnery of Loveland, Ohio, 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
