Funeral services for Rev. Harold McLendon will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 at Highland Baptist Church with burial at Old Crystal Springs Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at Highland Baptist Church.  

Rev. Harold McLendon, 74, of Crystal Springs, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at his residence.

He received his Bachelor of Biblical Studies from Omega Bible Institute and Seminary.  He retired after more than 50 years of pastoring churches in Copiah, Lincoln, Rankin, Hinds and Simpson counties.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Tolton and Daisy McManus McLendon; a sister, Ruth Loggans; and brothers, Buddy McLendon and Charles McLendon.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Bagley McLendon; daughters, Cherron McLendon Carr (Casey) of Wesson and Lori Parker (Waymon) of Pelahatchie; sons, Chris McLendon (Marie) of Pearl and Darryl McLendon of Crystal Springs; brothers, Kenneth McLendon of Anniston, Alabama, Jerry McLendon (Fran), Carroll McLendon (Nita) all of Crystal Springs, and Robert McLendon (Betty) of Wesson; sisters, Mary Evelyn Young (Buddy) of Crystal Springs and Lynda Jean Gowan (Clayton) of Waynesville, Georgia; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
