Lady Cougars battles ACCS tonight

The Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars are searching for a win today after suffering three straight losses in MAIS fastpitch softball action between Thursday and Saturday.

In Thursday’s action, Park Place Christian Academy edged the Lady Cougars 4-3.

In Saturday games at ASC Tournament, BA fell to Franklin Academy 2-0 and to Natchez Cathedral 3-1.

The Lady Cougars (4-5, 0-1) will be in action today as they host the ACCS Lady Rebel for a big division test. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:15 p.m.

Park Place 4, BA 3 

Allie Summers suffered the setback on the mound for the Lady Cougars with four strikeouts and five walks.

Summers was the offensive leader at the plate for BA with three singles. Anna Grace Covington, Cameron Watson and Julie Anna Bartram provided a single each.

In junior varsity action,  the Lady Cougars fell to Park Place 7-2.

Madi Smith absorbed the setback as BA’s pitcher with two strikeouts and no walks.

Madison Moak, Olivia Lewis and Ainsley Allen paced the Lady Cougars at the plate with a single each.

Franklin Academy 2, BA 0 

Summers absorbed the defeat on the rubber for the Lady Cougars as she gave up two hits in a two strikeout and two walk performance in the ASC Tournament.

BA did not record a offensive hit against Franklin Academy in Game One.

Cathedral 3, BA 1 

In Game Two of ASC Tournament, BA fell to their new division rivals the Natchez Cathedral Lady Green Wave.

Summers suffered the defeat on the mound for BA with two strikeouts and one walk.

Kailyn Jordan and Allison Livingston paced the Lady Cougars’ offense with a single apiece.
