CRYSTAL SPRINGS (AP) — The Mississippi Highway Patrol reports four people, including two children, have died in an accident in Copiah County.

The patrol says the accident occurred Wednesday about 3:15 a.m. on Interstate 55 North.

Troopers say investigators believe the driver of a 2014 Hyundai apparently lost control, left the roadway and collided with a tree. The car then caught fire.

Two adults and two children died in the crash. Their identities have not been released.

Officials say the victims’ bodies are being taken to the state crime lab. The accident remains under investigation.
