Finance can often be a cause for worry and concern, and some of that can stem from the fear of uncertainty. To ensure that lack of knowledge is not a concern, the Friends of the Library have organized a “Women, Power and Money” seminar for this month’s Lunch and Learn event.
The presentation will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Vernon Room at the Lincoln County library.
“I think a lot of women are not aware of how money works,” Nancy Hanks-Myers, the event organizer, said.
She said there are women who only get a grocery allowance and have no idea about the finances.
“It’s hard to believe in this day and time,” she said.
Hanks-Myers said this seminar will help open a dialogue and provide skills for these women.
This event is part of a large effort by the Friends of the Library to help create a learning environment.
“We just try to make it about a variety of things,” she said. “We could do anything.”
Hanks-Myers encourages people to reach out and ask for topics for future presentations.
“We can find someone to do it,” she said. “There are people, all of this community, that knows something.”
