Funeral services for Juanita “Nita” Delaughter Goff will begin at 11 a.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home chapel in Moss Point with burial in Big Point cemetery. Rev. Archie Holley will be officiating the services. Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS is in charge of the arrangements. 

Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.

Mrs. Goff 86, of Escatawpa, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, in Helena. She was born on July 2, 1929, in Lawrence County.

She was a resident of Jackson County for most of her life, she was retired from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, a member of Four Mile Creek Baptist Church in Escatawpa, Order of the Eastern Star of Moss Point, and the VFW Post #3373 of Pascagoula.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ruby Thornhill; her son, J.D. Delaughter Jr.; her sister, Minnie Lee; and her son-in-law David Alexander.
Survivors are her children, Diane Rogers of Escatawpa, Doris Goodman of Pascagoula, Kathy Betham of Hurley, Cynthia (Gary) Ashcraft of Escatawpa, Vicky Alexander of Escatawpa, Jimmy (Carolyn) Delaughter, of Escatawpa, Billy (Lila) Delaughter, of Escatawpa, her sisters Faye (Tommy) Lemaitre Myers of Escatawpa, Catherine Strickland of Brookhaven, Ann Lee of Brookhaven; and her brother David Thornhill of Brookhaven; numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family wishes to thank Bobby and Clara Sanford and staff, and Southern Care Hospice for their care and compassion during Nita’s illness.
