Funeral services for Jerry Edgar Butcher are Friday. Sept. 11, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Lucien Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, from 5 until 8 p.m. and will continue on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at Lucien Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Mr. Butcher, 77, Of McCall Creek, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at his residence. He was born on March 13, 1938, in Cabell County, West Virginia to William and Emma Carmen Workman Butcher.

He was a retired worker in the Avondale Ship Yards. He served his nation in the United State Air Force. He was a member of Lucien Baptist Church in McCall Creek. He loved the beauty of nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia Bruno Butcher; daughter Susan Sanders Todorov; great-grandchild Zoey DoPino; brothers, William W. Butcher II, Roy L. Butcher, Harry S. Butcher and Louis F. Butcher.

Survivors are his daughters, Cynthia Sanders Childers (Jerry) of Harrodsburg, Kentucky and Jerri Emma Moore (Drew) of Saint Rose, Louisiana; son, Jerry E. Butcher II (aka Adam Stevens) of Rochester, New York; sisters, L. Dora Templeton, Ethel Brammer, C. Ruth Mays and Rosemary Alged; brother, John A. Butcher, all of Barboursville, West Virginia; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations be made to Brookhaven Animal Rescue League.
