BSW wins two against Magnolia

The Brookhaven Southern Wildcats won two out of three games over the Magnolia Hurricanes Saturday in TNT Youth Football League action at King Field.
The Wildcats crushed Magnolia 30-6 in the 6-8 game. Brookhaven thumped the Hurricanes 28-6 in the 9-10 game. In 11-12 action, the Hurricanes blanked the Wildcats 38-0.
The Wildcats play again Saturday against the Tylertown Rams in McComb. Game time is at 10 a.m.
BSW 30, Magnolia 6
Zachary Moore was the offensive leader on the field as he powered the Wildcats rushing attack with 95 yards and two touchdowns. His longest run came on a 55-yard touchdown run. Moore also rushed in a six-yard touchdown and cashed in a two-point conversion.
Markel Smith provided 70 yards rushing for BSW. He punched in an eight-yard rushing touchdown and ran in the two-point conversion. Timothy Smith scored on a 25-yard run. Jasmine Robinson ran in a two-point conversion
Defensively, Daylan Barden led the team with 11 tackles and recovered a fumble. Durrell Washington contributed seven tackles. Seth Butler, Devion Brown and Fabian Washington II had four tackles each. Aaron Harris provided three tackles.
BSW 28, Magnolia 6
Kenneth Dixon was the top rusher for the Wildcats with 125 yards. Dixon scored on a 70-yard and 43-yard run. He also punched in a two-point conversion to lead Brookhaven.
Malachi Clark was the second leading rusher on the team with 65 yards. Jeremiah Hargon rushed for 35 yards. Jimmy Johns Jr. scored on a one-yard run and Kermit Sartin cashed in a five-yard rushing touchdown.
Defensively, Kermit Sartin directed the Wildcats with five tackles and a 30-yard interception return. Demetre Butler, Micah Harris and Malachi Clark provided three tackles each. Elijah Calcote had two tackles and intercepted a pass.
