West Lincoln competes in Clinton run

CLINTON – The West Lincoln Bears and Lady Bears competed in the Clinton Cross Country meet Saturday. More than 30 schools and around 800 runners participated in the 5K event.

The Lady Bears finished in 17th place as Lillianne Rushing led West Lincoln with a time of 26:09. Georganna Allen finished at 26:49, Lexis Leggett at 27:56, Carlie Smith at 29:30 and Maddox Redd at 33:18.

The Bears placed 14th place in their 5K run. Jason Watts posted a time of 17:45 to finish 15th place overall. Jonathan Mathis finished with a time of 21:40, Todd Calcote at 22:11, Jordan Montgomery at 23:10 and Trevor Murray at 26:09.

In junior high action, West Lincoln’s girls and boys teams finished in sixth and eighth place.

The Lady Bears took home sixth place in the junior high girls run. West Lincoln was led by at Ashley Tabor with a time of 16:27. Tess Holley posted a time of 17:16, Sara Wilson at 18:20, Gracee Warren at 19:08 and Anna Johnson at 20:57.

For the junior high boys, West Lincoln captured eighth place overall. Tiler Castillo directed the Bears with a time of 13:38. Ashtin Castillo came in with a time of 14:48, Spencer Maxwell at 15:07, Dakota Springs at 16:43 and Barrett Boyd at 16:45.

West Lincoln will return to action Oct. 10 at the Watson Ford MC Invitational meet at the Choctaw Trails.
