Lady Cats cruise past Puckett

PUCKETT – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats are on a roll, defeating the Puckett Lady Wolves Tuesday night 13-2 in slowpitch softball action.

“This was a good win for us,” said BC coach Scott Leggett. “We played some good ball tonight and our defense was solid.”

In Monday’s contest in Liberty, the Lady Cats cruised past the Amite County Lady Trojans 18-4.

In Saturday’s games in Monticello, Bogue Chitto knocked off Franklin County 9-2 and beat Raleigh 6-2.

The Lady Cats (20-4, 2-0) will resume action Thursday as they travel to Union for a varsity game only beginning at 5:30 p.m.

BC 13, Puckett 2 

The Lady Cats managed to shake off a sluggish start to beat the Lady Wolves in a five-inning contest.

Brooke Myers was the winning pitcher for BC with no strikeouts and three walks.

Christian Black powered the Lady Cats’ attack at the plate with two doubles and a single. Terrah Nelson contributed three singles. Zariah Matthews, Alana Nettles and Reagan Kirkland hit a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Codi Leggett, Baileigh Jackson and Karly Leake.

In JV action, Bogue Chitto beat Puckett 5-1.

Gracie Guynes earned the win on the mound for BC with no strikeouts and five walks.

Stevie Montgomery and Destiny Wallace paced the Lady Cats’ offense with two singles each. Lineka Newson provided a double. T’Asia Black, Payton Barron, Taneshia May, Kayci Beth Wallace and Shyann Jackson hit safely.

BC 18, Amite Co. 4

Codi Leggett ripped a triple and a double. Cherie Savoie, Matthews and Nettles had two single apiece. Destiny Wallace and Baileigh Jackson hit a single each.

BC 9, Franklin Co. 2 

Myers pitched the victory for BC with no strikeouts and three walks.

Black led the Lady Cats with a double and two singles. Jackson provided three singles. Leake contributed two singles. Leggett hit a double. Matthews, Myers and Savoie hit safely.

BC 6, Raleigh 2 

Myers collected the win on the mound for the Lady Cats with no strikeouts and one walk.

Black directed BC at the plate with three singles. Kirkland ripped a double and a single. Nettles had a double. Matthews and Myers hit a single each.
