Funeral services for Christine McBeth Smith are Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Hal Hatten will officiate the services. Pallbearers are Freddie Wallace, James Marx, Bruce Falvey, Stan Sasser, Ronald Gill and Greg Allen. Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be at Calvary Baptist Church on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the services.

Mrs. Smith, 96, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, at the Bedford Care Center of Hattiesburg. She was born May 28, 1919, in Lena to Robert C. and Ellie Sue McDonald McBeth.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She earned her Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Southern Mississippi and worked 38 years as a school teacher. She was a member of DAR, Order of the Eastern Star, Garden Club and WMU. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Smith; parents; step-mother, Mamie Bishop McBeth; step-sister, Ima Jewel Whittington; and step-brothers, Otis and R.A. Bishop.

Survivors are her sons, Richard Smith and wife, Karin, of Warrensburg, Missouri, and Jim Smith and wife, Danon, of Hattiesburg; granddaughters, Stephanie Smith Marx and husband, James, of Gladstone, Missouri, Kristin Smith Meyer and husband, Mark, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Adrienne Smith Coppock and husband, Chris, of Parrish, Florida; great-grandchildren, Alex, Jennifer and Luke Marx, Jane, Clara and Isaac Meyer, Zoe and Ella Coppock; step-sisters, Ina Jo Grabiak of Ridgeland and Bobbie Ell Pigg of Lena; step-brother, Billy Wayne Bishop and wife, Wanda, of Lena;  and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
