Graveside services for James Darrin Stroud are Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Union Church Cemetery. Bro. Michael Lips of New Hope Methodist Church in Brookhaven will be officiating the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stroud, 48, of Bethel Island, California died Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, after a year-long battle with cancer. He was born in Hazlehurst on Oct. 17, 1966, to James Doyle and Cynthia Fay Stroud of Brookhaven.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Stroud; daughters, Jessica Simons and husband, Clint, Christine Stroud and Katie Bernacchi, all of California; sons, James Michael Stroud of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and Scott Stroud of California; brother, Doyle Nolan Stroud and wife, Melanie, of Port Jervis, New York; his parents; and grandmother, Velma Stroud of Greenville.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.
