Jackson State thumps Arkansas-Pine Bluff

JACKSON (AP) – Jarin Morikawa threw three touchdown passes to Devin Fosselman and Jackson State clobbered Arkansas-Pine Bluff 37-3 on Saturday.

Morikawa, playing in relief of injured starter LaMontiez Ivy, was 25 of 40 for 333 yards – 175 on six receptions by Fosselman, who made touchdown grabs from 48, 10 and 59 yards

Robert Johnson had 18 carries for 100 yards and darted 42 yards for a second-quarter touchdown for Jackson State (2-5, 2-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Ryan Deising kicked three field goals, connecting from 42, 37 and 49 yards.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff (1-6, 0-5) was held to just 175 yards of offense, including 76 yards rushing on 31 carries.

Jackson State got on the board early when Morikawa found Fosselman from 48 yards out, and the pair connected again just before half on a 10-yard scoring pass.

Jamie Gillan kicked a 22-yard field goal in the third quarter for Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
