Funeral services for Fay Lynn Carraway Gandy are Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Sardis Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Vann Windom Jr. and Rev. Billy Barnes will be officiating the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be at Sardis Baptist Church in Hazlehurst on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, from 2 until 6 p.m. and will continue Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.

Mrs. Gandy, 80, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at her home. She was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Copiah County to Ezekiel W. and Ada B. Hood Carraway.

She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church in Hazlehurst and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Hazlehurst Chapter No. 25. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also loved gardening, flowers, and working in her yard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Linda Gandy Pell; her sister, Dorothy Mangold; and her brother, Marvin Carraway.

Survivors are her husband of 63 years, William Wallace Gandy; her daughters, Sherry Gandy King and Robert King of Wesson and Tammy Gandy Caruthers and her husband, Stephen, of Madison; sons, Larry Gandy of Hazlehurst and Dwayne Gandy and his wife, Wanda Kay, of Cincinnati, Ohio; her brother, Thomas H. Carraway of Fayetteville, Arkansas; her sisters, Elizabeth Waltman of Wesson, Juanita Harris of Gallman and Joy Granger and her husband, Johnny, of Hazlehurst; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice Ministries, 397 Brookhaven Street, Brookhaven, MS 39601.
