Navy wins Lipsey Peewee Superbowl

After a two-week layoff due to the weather, Lipsey Peewee football league crowned a new champion Tuesday night as the No. 3 seed Navy team crushed the No. 1 seed Red team 20-0 at King Field.

Navy 20, Red 0 

Malachi Williams powered his Navy team as he rushed in a one-yard touchdown in the first quarter and a five-yard touchdown scramble in the fourth quarter.

Jervonte Scarbrough led the Navy team with 80 yards rushing and scored a touchdown on an eight-yard run.

Offensive linemen Aaron Parnell and Amari Smith created huge holes in the line for Williams and Scarbrough’s touchdown runs.

Defensively, the Navy team dominated the line of scrimmage. Damarea Hamilton led his Navy team with eight tackles. Caleb Harris contributed seven tackles, four were for a loss. Zerian Hudson finished with five tackles. Pike Wallace intercepted a pass.

For the Red team, Wayne Dickey was the leader on defense with five tackles. Ben Ready provided three tackles.
