No damage reported from overnight storms

Some places in Lincoln County received as much as 4 inches of rainfall overnight, but the storms that moved through the area didn’t produce a tornado.

Lincoln County was under a tornado warning late Tuesday night as radar indicated the possibility of rotation near Loyd Star. The storm did bring strong winds and caused power outages, but no damage was reported.

Entergy reported as many as 275 customers were without power Tuesday night. By this morning, that number was down to about 175, most of those in Brookhaven.

Entergy expected power to be restored to all by 6 p.m. today.

Tornado damage was reported in other parts of the state. Damage in Scott, Leake and Winston counties was attributed to tornadoes. Trees and power lines were blown down in all three counties and a metal roof was blown off in Leake County.

Strong winds also downed trees in Adams, Yazoo, Hinds, Lowndes and Warren counties.
