Funeral services for Gordon Richard “Opa” Sutton will be Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto. Bro. Hal Hatten will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m.

Mr. Sutton, 61, of Bogue Chitto, died Nov. 23, 2015 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Mr. Sutton was born Aug. 10, 1954 in Brookhaven to Albert and Betty Jean Smith Sutton. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto. He loved old cars and spending time with family and friends. He was also a devoted son, brother, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Sutton, and special friend, Moran McClleand.

Survivors include his father, Albert Sutton; his mother, Betty Jean Smith Sutton, both of Bogue Chitto; daughter, Nisa Sutton and grandson, Avery Fischer, both of Mayville, Wisconsin; son, Shawn D. Sutton of McComb; sister, Debra Sutton Smith and her husband, Claude, of Brookhaven; former wife, Nona Meek; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, as well as his dog Ruby.
