Funeral services for Lavon Laird of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at Mt. Zion Church of Christ with burial at the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service from 5 until 8 p.m. She will also lie in state from 10 a.m. until time of services on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015.

Mrs. Laird, 92, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at St. Dominic in Jackson. She was born on Feb. 9, 1923, to Ted and Lillian Burns.

She was a homemaker and retired as a cafeteria worker and was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Hugh V. Laird; daughter, Mary Frances Ainsworth; brothers, Clifton Burns, Bill Burns and William Clarence Burns; and sister, Marie Lenior.

Survivors are her sons, Roy Davis and wife, Linda, Charles Davis and wife, Janice, James Birdsong and Robert Hugh Laird and wife, Charlotte; daughters, Kathy Pace and Vickie Laird; brothers, Troy Burns and Ronnie Burns and wife, Patsy; sisters, Teddie Perere and husband, Earl, Lou Hicks and Alvie Myers; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.

Memorials can be made to Mt. Zion Church Of Christ Cemetery Fund.
