FOREST – The Wesson Cobras and Lady Cobras split a varsity doubleheader in high school soccer action against the Forest Bearcats Monday night.

In the girls’ contest, the Lady Cobras defeated the Lady Bearcats 1-0.

Sophomore Amber Brinson powered the Lady Cobras with one goal and seven steals. Cheyenne Gladden and Brooke Jones finished with five steals apiece. Arie Douglas and Nikki Guess finished with four steals each. Harmoni Ashley finished with 15 saves as Wesson’s goalie.

In boys’ action, Forest blanked Wesson 3-0.

Dylan Ingle paced the Cobras with 10 steals. Trey Fleming contributed eight steals. Preston Middleton had seven steals. Steven Dennis and Justin Morgan finished with six steals apiece. Middleton had eight saves in the loss as Wesson’s goalie.
