Franklin Co. beats Wesson, splits with Terry

WESSON – Franklin County swept Wesson in Friday night soccer action to claim two division wins.
The Bulldogs on Saturday fell to Terry 4-0 in boys’ action, while the Lady Bulldogs finished in a 0-0 tie with Terry.
Franklin County will be in action today as it visits Loyd Star to play the Hornets in two district games. Action begins at 6 p.m. with the girls followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m.
Lady Bulldogs 1, Lady Cobras 0
Jaden Long hit the game-winning goal for the Lady Bulldogs, which was assisted by Justice Walker.
Mia Durrell provided 11 saves including a blocked penalty kick. Morgan Moak led FC’s defense to a shutout.
Franklin Co. 4, Wesson 3
Kane Gillian scored two goals for the Bulldogs. Zane Davis and Greg Queen scored one goal each.
Kyle McCormick finished with three assists for FC. Garret Smith had 14 saves.
FC Girls 0, Terry 0
Morgan Moak led the Lady Bulldogs to another shutout. Mia Durell had 14 saves against the 6A powerhouse Terry Lady Bulldogs. Franklin County’s record is now 9-3-4 on the season.
Terry 4, FC Boys 0
Garrett Smith had 18 saves as FC (15-1) lost its first game of the season.
