LC Cougars beat New Albany

NEW ALBANY – The Lawrence County Cougars rallied in the second half to down the New Albany Bulldogs 54-45 in Saturday’s non-division contest.
Lawrence County will be in action today as the Cougars and Lady Cougars battle Richland in a key Region 6-4A test. The varsity girls will tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m.

Lawrence County fought hard to claim a slim 12-10 lead in the first, but the Bulldogs outscored the Cougars 12-5 to take the lead at halftime 22-17.
Lawrence County dominated New Albany with a 37-23 run in the final two quarters to secure the win.
Junior forward Keyshawn Feazell directed the Cougars with 21 points and eight rebounds. Gabe Lewis contributed 15 points and had three rebounds. Phil Moore provided eight points, five assists and two steals. Lane Rutland and Vernell Garner scored five points apiece. A.J. McLaurin and Rutland also helped on the boards with five rebounds each.
