Jones blanks Lady Wolves 9-0

WESSON – The Lady Wolves tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday falling to the Jones County Lady Bobcats 9-0 Monday.

Jones has been a prominent school in MACJC tennis for many years, and it showed on Saturday.

Jones won two of the three doubles matches after the No. 3 slot for Co-Lin was forfeited. Brandi McInnis and Chantel Quarles fell 8-1 to Raquel Rodriguez and Madison Currie at No. 1. Susanna Ratcliff and Bayli Battle were defeated by Claire Rounsaville and Breanna Waller 8-3 in the No. 2 position.

In singles action, McInnis lost 6-0, 6-3 to Madison Currie in the No. 2 slot. Quarles lost 6-0, 6-2 to Rounsaville at No. 3. Ratcliff fell to Rudolph at No. 4 6-3, 6-1. Battle lost to Mattie Mills 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 5 position, and Julie Kramer lost to Breanna Waller 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 6 position. The No. 1 slot was won by default by Jones.

The Lady Wolves travel to East Central to take on the Lady Warriors in their next match Wednesday, March 2.
