Lady Jaguars blank McComb

SUMMIT – The North Pike Lady Jaguars clobbered the McComb Lady Tigers 12-0 Tuesday night in Region 7-4A fastpitch softball action.

The Lady Jaguars (12-5, 6-2), coached by Sonya Wallace, will resumes division action Thursday as they travel to battle the Sumrall Lady Bobcats. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:15 p.m.

The Lady Jaguars’ overpowered the Lady Tigers in a four inning contest scoring two runs each in the first and second innings, before putting together a seven run surge to secure a 11-0 lead. North Pike would score its final run in the fourth inning to finish off McComb and collect the win.

Madison Bigner tossed the victory for the Lady Jaguars with six strikeouts and no walks.

Alayna Thornton suffered the loss for the Lady Tigers with two strikeouts and no walks.

Bigner sparked the Lady Jaguars’ attack with a homerun and a single. Jenna Brock, Janay Maxwell and Whitney Howell fueled the flames with two singles each. Janaiah Talbert provided three singles. Hitting safely were Sarah Brock, Linley Smith and Baylee Bryant.
