Lady Jaguars clinch three wins

SUMMIT – The North Pike Lady Jaguars clobbered the Sumrall Lady Bobcats 11-1 Monday night to clinch the Region 7-4A fastpitch softball crown.

North Pike sweeps a varsity doubleheader 10-6 and 5-2 at home against Germantown Saturday.

The Lady Jaguars, coached by Sonya Wallace, will be in action today when they host the Purvis Lady Tornadoes. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m.

North Pike 11, Sumrall 1

Madison Bigner was the winning pitcher for the Lady Jaguars with one strikeout and four walks.

Katie West suffered the loss for the Lady Bobcats with one strikeout and two walks.

Bigner was the top hitter at the plate for the Lady Jaguars with a double. Janay Maxwell contributed two singles. Sarah Brock, Linley Smith, Madison Bates and Jenna Brock hit safely.

North Pike 10, Germantown 6 

Linley Smith (1K, 1BB) and Madison Bigner (3K, 1BB) combined together to collect the win on the rubber for North Pike.

Bigner was the offensive leader with a homerun, a double and a single. Janay Maxwell contributed two singles. Janiah Talbert provided a double.

North Pike 5, Germantown 2 

Bigner pitched the win in the second game, finishing with five strikeouts and one walk.

Talbert paced the Lady Jags’ offense with a double and a single. Jami Spears ripped a double. Hitting safely were Sarah Brock and Jenna Brock.
