Laken Rawls and Matthew Smith announce their engagement and approaching marriage.
She is the daughter of Jeremy Rawls and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Slaven, of Bogue Chitto.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Smith, of Bogue Chitto, and Mr. and Mrs. Royd Walker, of Sandhill.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gale Rawls and Mr. and Mrs. David Brister, all of Bogue Chitto.
He is the grandson of Mrs. Dorothy Smith, the late Kenneth Smith, of Bogue Chitto, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Holmes, of Summit, and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Smith Jr., of Franklin County.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Enterprise Attendance Center, Southwest Mississippi Community College, the University of Southern Mississippi and is currently completing her master’s degree at the University of Southern Mississippi in speech-language pathology. The bride-elect will graduate in December 2016. She is currently employed as a graduate assistant with The Children’s Center for Communication and Development at the University of Southern Mississippi.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Enterprise Attendance Center, Southwest Mississippi Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in communication. He is employed with Venture Church in Hattiesburg.
The couple will exchange vows Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto. A reception will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
All friends and relatives are invited to attend the wedding and the reception.
