Funeral services for Sally Turnage White of Brookhaven are Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial in Holly Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, May 6, 2016, from 5 until 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 7, 2016, from 10 a.m. until time of service at Riverwood.

Mrs. White, 86, died Thursday, May 5, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was born July 7, 1929 in Lawrence County to E.A. and Velma McDavid Turnage. She was a dedicated member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. She was retired from Hartley Gove Sons thermometer plant.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 60 plus years, J.C. White Jr.; daughter, Kathryn Joyce White; and sister-in-law, Pat Turnage.

Survivors are daughter, Brenda Byrd and husband, James; son, Darrell White; four grandchildren, Bonnie Thompson and husband, Justin, Chris Byrd and Kevin White of Brookhaven, Lisa Thornell and husband, Chris, of Vicksburg; seven great-grandchildren, Bailey Thompson, Chloe Thompson, Leiana Thornell, Holly Thornell, Colton Thornell, James Curtis and Lee Edward White; sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Jerry Johnson of Brookhaven; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Barbara Turnage of New Mexico; and special cousins, David and Judy Singleton, Joe and Phyllis Singleton and Bill Singleton; and a special lifelong friend, Martha Lou Murff.

Funeral services for Eugene Willard Upton Jr., of Brookhaven are Monday, May 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Easthaven Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, May 8, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Riverwood.

Mr. Upton, 71, died May 7, 2016, at his residence.

He was born on Dec. 12, 1944.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Eugene Willard Upton Sr. and Edna Earl Strickland Upton; sisters, Irene Upton, Mamie Holcomb; brothers, Lucius Upton Dale Upton and E.W. Upton.

Survivors are his wife, Denise Upton; son, Hank Wendell Upton; step-son, Tony Wallace and wife, Roslyn; step-daughter, Melissa Brister and husband, John; brother, Earl Upton; sisters, Joyce Milton and Carolyn Moak; three grandchildren, Angel Rose Upton, Amanda Brooke Brister and John Garett Brister; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
