The Bogue Chitto softball team and Loyd Star baseball team are due a “congratulations” for making it to the state title series.

Bogue Chitto took the series to a deciding third game Saturday before falling to Smithville. Even so, the Lady Cats have much to be proud of.

The same goes for Loyd Star. The team won South State and advanced to the title series. The first game of the best-of-three series is Tuesday.

The success of both teams is a testament to the hard work and dedication of student-athletes, coaches and parents.

High school graduation marks a significant first step in the lives of students. Some will go on to college, some will go on to a trade school, some will enter the military and some will head straight to the workforce. Whatever their dreams, we wish them the very best in the future.
