Funeral services for Jimmie Lynn Goodson are Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) at 2 p.m. with burial in the Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery in Meadville. Bro. Eric Moak will officiate the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Visitation is Monday, May 16, 2016, from 5 to 9 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday, May 17, from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Goodson, 79, died Saturday, May 14, 2016, at his residence. He was born on Jan. 2, 1937, in Franklin County to Leon and Myrtle Ruth Sullivan Goodson.

He enjoyed raising cattle, riding horses and conversing with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and stepmother, Algie Goodson.

Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Shirley Martin Goodson; son, Ronnie Lynn Goodson of Byram; daughters, Dewanna Williamson and husband, Ike, of Meadville, Barbara Freeman of McNair and Nina Granger and husband, Marlin, of Brookhaven; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
