Funeral services for Joseph “Joe” A. Cooper III are Thursday, May 19, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Stringer Family Chapel with burial in Hopewell Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is in charge of arrangements. 

Visitation is Thursday, May 19, 2016, from 11 a.m. until time of services at Stringer Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Cooper, 71, died on Monday, May 16, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Cooper was a native of Tennessee. He grew up and attended school in Baldwin. He worked as a route salesman for Hardins Bakery, owned several convenience stores and later owned and operated his own automobile sales business, Cooper Auto Sales. While he may have had a passion for automobiles, his real passion was his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Cooper was a member of Springs of Praise.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Marie Cooper; mother, Dorothy Bullard; father, Joseph A. Cooper Jr.; sister, Lynn Stokes; and brother, Eddie Bullard.

Survivors are his sons, Joey A. Cooper and wife, Beth, of Crystal Springs; daughters, Sharon Cooper Irwin and husband, Rob, of Columbus, and Jeanette Cheroni and husband, Jason, of Crystal Springs; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
