Ole Miss beats South Carolina

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) – Henry Lartique had four hits, including a three-run homer in the eighth inning, to power Mississippi past South Carolina 10- 4 on Wednesday in the Southeastern Conference tournament.

The Rebels (42-16) advance to meet Vanderbilt in a winner’s bracket game. The Gamecocks (42-14), who have lost seven straight SEC tournament games, must beat Texas A&M to stay alive.

Lartique was 4 for 5 with four RBIs and three runs scored. J.B. Woodman had two hits and scored four times.

David Parkinson pitched into the sixth for Ole Miss, giving up two runs.

South Carolina committed five errors, leading to four unearned runs. Gene Cone had three of the Gamecocks’ 10 hits while Madison Stokes and Jonah Bride each had two.
